Hotel Arts - Calgary

Updated rooms and fantastic bar area.

The location

The first morning was excellent we had a lovely lady and everything was great. The next morning we ordered the same things with a different lady and everything came out wrong

The hotel was fabulous and spotless. Awesome breakfast - plenty of meals. Marvellous location as only 5 minutes to Glenbow Museum. Delicious food in the in-house restaurant in the vicinity.

Staff being very polite and helpful.

I booked the hotel Arts in Calgary thinking it was a part of the same hotel arts in Barcelona which of course is a very nice 4/5 star hotel. However I was shocked at the standards in the hotel, dirty bathroom, cracked ceiling, ripped and damaged chairs and furniture. I did point these things out and in all fairness was given a discount on my bill when checking out. At this point I was told that the hotel was infact nothing to do with the Hotel Arts in Barcelona, which I felt was very misleading and wrong to do. I had to move to the Marriot for the rest of my stay in Calgary.

The rooms are compact and cool, with the shower, spectacular views, a fridge provided. Extra care from the polite staff.

Staff were very pleasant and very willing to offer suggestions re things to do or places to eat. Raw Bar restaurant is nicely decorated, has great staff and a comprehensive menu including lots of meat items which I wouldn't guess from the name. Loved the pool and surrounding eating area.

The glass door on the bathroom looked very stylish but offered no soundproofing at all. There are stairs that you need to carry your suitcase up and down on the way in from the parking garage as well as in the middle of the hallway on the way to your room. Studio room with 2 queens was very small.

The room decor was modern and cozy.

Underground parking for guests was expensive and noise from traffic in morning woke me up quite early.

Staff very friendly, food good and rooms are big.

Rooms lack light which is a common hotel problem but htese rooms are particularly dark. Hotel needs to be refurbished as it is looking a little old and run down.

Fully refurbished, great design hotel with a very good location just 2 blocks from the main shopping street. Comfortable bed, big plasma TV and quiet. 10 minutes to the Stampede fair grounds. Their french restaurant is very nice.

Free Wifi could be included (CAD 12 per day)

Beautiful hotel lobby, multiple on-site dining options, artistic design elements.

Unfortunate lack of spa services !!! The pool area was overcrowded most of the time, quite disappointing for relaxation expectations. Charging for water in the room seemed excessive, especially after the hefty rates paid!!!

The newly renovated facilities. The modern look. The raw evening bar.

The hours for saint Germaine. There is no natural lighting in the morning raw bar.The tub in 1015 was old and small.

Room was filthy with disgusting shower curtain.

Overall, a very pleasant hotel.

The lighting in the room was poor. The houskeeping manager needs to look at the cleaning products that the staff use as they are damaging the bathroom taps due to abrasion.

Compact room and amazing bathroom with a shower and dressing gowns. Very modern interior design, great beds. Location just off downtown, many great restaurants and cocktail bars and downtown Calgary.
